Awards season is in full swing and one of the most important nights to commence this seasons festivities nominations have been announced. The 90th Annual Oscar Awards airing live on ABC March 4th and the list of nominations were presented by the always over the top actor/comedian Tiffany Haddish and actor Andy Serkis.
The major competitor continues to be Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” leading with 13 nominations. While Martin McDonagh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” followed behind with nine nods and “Dunkirk” with eight. Additionally, the same three films have received best picture nominations. Rounding our the category was “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “Get Out,” “Phantom Thread,” “Lady Bird,” and “The Post.” While there were some snubs, where is “Wonder Woman” and “Mudbound?” Both deservingly needed to be nominated and both were helmed by women in front and behind the scenes…#TimesUp indeed.
