Lauryn Hill’s iconic debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its release in 1998. Yes, 2o years! To celebrate her legendary album, Hill is embarking on a major world tour and now can add model to her resume with her new campaign/collaboration with Woolrich. This is the first fashion campaign in her career and that’s mind boggling, right? How did Lauryn Hill in all her early aught slayage not pull at least one fashion campaign? Though, her infamous antics of being late to shows, absences etc. do give me pause that it could have all been on Hill.

Nonetheless, this new campaign entitled Woolrich: American Soul Since 1830 focusing on the "artists whose creative ingenuity is at the very heart of American culture." The clip shows Hill cascading the Harlem, New York streets the same location she filmed her visual “Doo Wop,” in 1998; rightfully having a full circle moment.

The campaign not only features Hill modelling the new autumn 2018 outerwear (which is absolutely stunning), she also worked with the team behind the scene as a creative collaborator, exclusively reworking the capsule collections designs with Lauryn Hill’s final approval. She’s featured wearing Woolrich Arctic Parka while performing her song “Ex-Factor” at the famous Apollo Theater. All photos and visuals were shot by Jack Davidson.

Creative Director Andrea Canè expressed in a recent press release, "The opportunity to work with Ms. Hill was the perfect start to our ongoing ‘American Soul’ project, highlighting Woolrich’s American heritage. We wanted Ms. Hill to bring her unique artistic eye to the product and DNA of the brand so we invited her to put her own spin on these classic Woolrich styles, reflecting her interpretation of ‘American Soul.'"

Take a look at the beautiful campaign and her visual below, needless to say these coats have autumn/winter luxe written all over them.
