It’s honestly apropos with cuffing season approaching and cozy temps soon to ensue. Monét’s sultry vocals float over a familiar melodic track reminiscent of the early ’80s, yet it feels so current.
With this new single, “Juicy,” Monét has also premiered a visual lyric video harking back to the days of Bob Fosse, complete with tight, timeless choreography presented in “Technicolor.” She dances in a long-sleeve, mock-neck black leotard, bold-colored nylons, a thin black Gucci leather belt and black patent leather pointed-toe stiletto pumps, a look that could even be a wink to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.” The entire look feels like a classic nod to Hollywood’s silver-screen musicals.
Victoria dedicated her vintage beauty look to her grandmother, Cassaundria “Cassie” Lovett, calling her “My angel of inspiration for life and for love.” Donning a soft, big-barrel-curled bob, the look adds another layer of retro glamour to the visual.
Fresh off the success of her previous single and video, “Reach Out,” Victoria Monét’s musical star continues to rise. And this next album is sure to shoot her even farther into the stratosphere, bringing the undeniable recognition she so deserves as a multifaceted artist.
