Something About Your ThirtiesFraîche Edit House

There is never really anything to truly prepare you for your thirties. It's a decade of realizations in becoming a true and hopefully well-rounded adult. At least that's what we all would like to achieve once we reach those special years. However, I didn't realize how much I've gained and learned in my thirties until I reach forty. Life's a game and we're all players trying to get to the next level. I wish I would have known many of the tips, tricks, and emotional steadiness at twenty-nine to live out my thirties like a "G".

Yet, having the euphony once I hit forty of just how much I’ve learned from my thirties, it’s a must I share. In hopes, that someone who reads this and who may just be at the brink of their thirties can heed some advice, that’ll make your decade a sweeter cake walk than mine.

1. You can and WILL speak more stringent, direct and on your terms about what you want, will do and won’t do in overall life.

2. The guy you thought was a total cornball, nerd and/or lame can turn out to be the coolest guy you’ve ever known.

3. The fewer the friends you have often provides closer connections and long-term relationships then large groups of “strangers and associates.”

4. You definitely have a much shorter tolerance for bullsh*t.

5. Your parent’s humanness will give you a gut check about your own life and overall mortality.

6. It’s totally okay to change careers, change your mind about what you want to do in life and who you want to be. Time is seriously a social construct that will remain constant, and it’s really about how you use it that makes all the difference.

7. Adulthood is really freaking REAL.

8. Marriage and kids do float at the top of your list of wants (if it hasn’t happened yet, and you want it to). Though, pressuring yourself to successfully do both won’t help, you have to be strategic and realistic, if that’s really what you want. Although, it's okay if it doesn't happen when you believe it should, life really tosses out curve balls when you can often least expect it and the best we can do is to play the game as best we can.

9. Have that big slice of cake, drink that 2nd shot of tequila, do the big chop, or dye your hair that vibrant/bold color... try it all! Life is way too short to be bashful about stepping out into who you are or truly want to be.

10. Please I beg of you, have FUN with your life, it’s too short to be so serious in your 30’s. "LIVE!" (Said like Pray Tell á la POSE)
