Late Summer 2023 Annotating on InstagramCourtesy of @LoveFraîche on Instagram

Summers beginning to fade and I'm ready to bid adieu to all of the heated days and nights we've all endured. It's time to share my seasonal anecdotes for late summer...yes, I am aware that just around the corner I will be sharing my autumn list. Although, time is fleeting like most of us nowadays, I'm just trying to keep up, so here we are. Over this summer I'd liked to have focused on paradisal pleasures that would include tropical tonics, white sand beach getaways, funky Loewe sunglasses and catching up on lots of leisurely reading. Did that happen? I'm afraid to say, absolutely not.

My summer, in fact my year 2023 thus far has been filled with taking care of a very sick parent, studying for the GMAT (a daunting task at the moment), refocusing my career, and surviving a roller coaster of emotions that I would not wish on my worst enemy. It's been hella tough on my mind, body and soul. Despite this part of my life happening in real time, it'll have to be a story for another day. What I'd like to say on a brighter note, I was able to start a couple interesting memoirs like The Token Black girl by Danielle Prescod and Wildflower by Aurora James. I copped some wildly fresh Loewe sunglasses and the closest I've gotten to white sand beaches is wearing the scent Aroma by Costa Brazil. Das it.

Honestly, it's okay for the circumstances and has not slowed down my propensity to find visual silver linings of inspiration and optimism. I’ve managed to continue to collect some chic and lavish anecdotes for inspiration during these chill months. Here’s a glimpse into some assorted adornments I want to share with you while preparing for one super cool bright spot of summer... Beyoncé's birthday concert!

May my colorful and heated collection inspire you to take time for self, feel the warm beams of the sun and stick your toes in the sand before fall really hits us again.

1. I don’t smoke. Nonetheless, if you do be sure to check out my stylish colleague Vic Styles luxury herbal brand and community Good Day Flor. I pulled singer/songwriter Amber Mark who's immortalized in a euphoric image of complete pleasure, with florals all around, wearing a flowing airy slip and tousled beach hair, with a simple joint in hand. It’s almost like a summer apothecary of dewy day dreams.

2. I desperately want to drink anything, especially a pineapple mint mojito in one of these delicious tropical hued glasses by Coming Soon.

3. You ever just crave a decadent desert that should be the only thing you eat for the almost the entire day, because it's so sinful? Well, this Chocolate Mousse Torte is that desert, I came across via the New York Times Cooking and I'm obsessed. I will definitely make an attempt to "bake" it before the summer is out.

4. With WGA/SAG strike roaring on it’s become what I am now coining "memoir season." Which is actually the perfect time to dig into some interesting and maybe even deep discoveries via some good memoirs that have already debuted or will soon debut. I've started both 'Token Black Girl' and Wild Flower as noted above and I am looking forward to adding Kerry Washington's 'Thicker Than Water' and 'Think You'll Be Happy' by Nicole Avant.

5. What needs to continue to happen? LIVING. Let me start off by declaring that the word cozy should not just coincide with the winter time and the months that end in “BER." I believe we should seek coziness in every season in different ways. I’m focused on making each room I frequent at home like my bedroom, living room and bathroom more cozy. Fitted with a new deeply plush couch, in a passionate color like dusty rose or cardamom, a unique floral wallpaper (I can peel away freely) and statement pieces that make it truly feel like home.

I haven't felt that feeling in a long time and one of my goals for 2024 is to get more settled. Not sure what that will look like. Although, I know it will include getting my living space in a more completed state. Happy final days of summer!
