Winter Annotating on Instagram Courtesy of @Fraîche on Instagram

I’m declaring January as the maximalist month of chill. There’s so many things that I wish I could wear right now, even in the often confinement of four walls of my apartment (the vaulted ceilings are closing in), while hiding from what lurks out in the world of Covid outside my door. What more can be said? Honestly by 2022 I thought it would be better, I believe many of us did.

It’s not. In fact, it’s feeling more like 2020 and as much as like we can all feel like it’s hopeless and daunting and never ending which is we must move forward and must find some inkling of happiness or bright light or silver lining; whatever you use to wake you up in the morning, to get through each day. Until this thing has really subsided and it’s over, whenever that is. I’m using this time to think about all the things that make life more maximalist, with where you are so why not make this month and winter season just that concept?

I’ve scoured Instagram and collected some cheeky and playful anecdotes for inspiration during the chill months. Granted, living in Los Angeles is not that winter I'd wish for as a forever East Coast girl. Oh, how I dream of a sunny 30º degree day. I say this while being spoiled in close 80º degree weather in early January. Believe you me, it can get redundant. 🙃

I came across a handful of snazzy things I want to share with you, as I choose to find happiness even on the most grayish of days. I hope my little collection inspires you to be a bit more maximalist in your life, too!

  1. The Loeffler Randall Emerald Green Silk Pleated Platform Sandals are all that I dream about…until they are physically in my possession. Seriously, these are a dream and my quest is to hover the size 10.5 (they fit small therefore, size up)and have them by Valentines Day. Now that's a gift!
  2. The loaf of bread puffers are indeed a winter treat and Gucci makes outerwear seem cooler without overplaying it's luxury, and for that alone I want one! Puffers can really make a winter fit come together. Although, I wish I could indulge in this wardrobe performance more often while living in Los Angeles it's only a fantasy.
  3. It's time to invest in some new bras for 2022, I am eager to add to my CUPP growing undergarments with their new lengthened back and colors schemes.
  4. Oh for the love of high-shine metallic winter boots! And, Christian Loubutin has made my silvery winter dreams come true. If these are the snow boots of the new Millenia, sign me up!
  5. The maximalist movement is here for the taking! I'm talking prints of all types, bold walls of color, things- lots and lots of stylish things to decorate with and wear. My 22' resolution is to increase the room, fill my personal space and the rooms I live in with more stylish pieces, more love and make them as maximum good vibes, as possible. Fashion maven Tracee Ellis Ross is often a pictorial and social media inspiration, and her post was too spot on not to save.
