Valentine’s Day is here and you’re either one of three people, you’re in relationships, between relationships (aka) single or in the weird peculiar area called the infamous “Friend Zone.” Well, musician and producer Thundercat has no time for being in anyone’s zone of friendship and made a perfect song to reflect his angst and the disillusions any of us can possibly encounter when in a friendship with someone we may like and it’s not reciprocated however, they still lead you on as “Friends.”
In the wake of his new album Drunk releasing next week February 24th, this track is the perfect anthem for #SingleAwarenessDay or whatever. It’s playful, musical in that weird sonic sound that Thundercat is known for and amusing in the most ironic way. Whether you’re in the friend zone or not, you can still relate to the sentiment.
