The visual directed by… is full of you guessed pink in every hue imaginable. One can’t help to think that it’s a double entendre for the female anatomy aka "Pussy Power", and the overall essence of a woman. Janelle Monáe has never shied away from women empowerment in many facets through her art, so the oversized pink flower petal shaped harem pants and looks by designer Duran Lantink that. she and her dancers wear all the other pink looks; and, desert landscapes—down to the donuts equally and artfully represent that as well. As the overall theme of sisterhood we see with the group of friends hamming it up in her very futuristic, flying pink corvette, and playfully in her bedroom where intimate conversations can happen.

Monáe’s ability to execute Afro-Futurism in the most realistic way is miles ahead of anything we’ve seen since that of Michael Jackson. It’s safe to say the future of music is in good hands as long as Janelle Monáe has any say. Which is to revel in our ability to be soft and pink or hard in fuchsia or every hue of pink. Expect Dirty Computer and more "emotion pictures," to drop April 27th under Atlantic Records.
