Today with much anticipation, Sam Smith the crooning King of emo heartbreak songs is back, after a long stint away from the spotlight. The time spent away has seemed to do him very well as his is back with a new breakup song entitled “Too Good at Goodbyes.” A beautiful soon to be timeless track about becoming stronger in the face of loves heartache and pain that can come in a toxic or troubled relationship. Smith's soft toned tenor vocals sing out, "I'm never gonna let you close to me/ Even though you mean the most to me'/Cause every time I open up, it hurts." A longing ballad that doubles as a heartening song for anyone out there, that's going through a rough breakup. As well as, a powerful welcome back from Smith who hasn't put out music since 2015 with his song Writings on The Wall for the James Bond film Spectre. "Too Good at Goodbyes” is off of the Smiths forthcoming LP, which, he says, this track along with four other tracks on the album are about him regarding a previous relationship, signaling a more heart-wrenching sophomore project. “It's been a long while since I've put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come,” says Smith to Billboard.
