We’re right now in the middle of real seasonal shift and it's becoming clear that the symbol of the seasons chilling has to be absolutely, positively about seeking a more cozy existence. The pleasures of finding that immediate comfort in what you wear now through the rest of winter. Yes, it's true we've should've all by now become accustom to the "athleisure" stylings of Working From Home (WFH) if you are lucky and/or staying home more often then not- because, Omarion. All of which, is very on brand for sir Covid. The importance I found within that notion of styling for serious comfort is just this one single sweatsuit.

I'm coining pancake wear. You know how pancakes are light brown and fluffy and equally soft and maybe even a little crispy on the edges. That's their style and don't forget the maple syrup, Grade A only. It's the color palette for me, I found that when you have muted tones especially warmer hues, it can allow you to really become one with the syrupy sweetness of a fluffy pancake; on a Saturday morning and what’s more relaxing and pleasurable then wearing a comfy sweatsuit and finding yourself at the farmers market, having a leisurely brunch or meeting friends? I cannot live without this look for the rest of the season.

It's the tan hues, the sweatsuit by Frankie, vintage Wool Coat and off-white Jordans to knock out this color mode. Yeah, the zebra print socks were a given for some added spunk. Photo by Ziggi

I've been playing our holiday playlist on repeat and it puts me in a place of warmth and reprieve, as I reminisce about my childhood and all the things that made me happy. All the things that gave me joy and I think that’s what we automatically want to try to seek during the season joy.

Joy in what we have and finding joy in what we don’t. I want that to be resolution. The holidays can be really sad or a strange and lonely time for folks and it tugs on a lot of different emotions. We all deserve to feel whatever we want to feel but in those feelings there should be goodness, there can still be room for good vibes to be had. Even in these weird and often isolating times.

I've watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while my family (including me) cooked a delicious harvest dinner to vegging out on a cozy chaise with hot cheesy popcorn and chocolate covered pretzels with peppermint chips and watched a Charlie Brown’s Christmas, just to try and tap back into my childhood. It’s really about the pleasures of just being in a good place even if you don’t have much. We all can be thankful for something while looking forward to the new year ahead.

If you’re reading this, you’re obliviously breathing. You are apart of the living and it’s a must that we do just that. LIVE! (said, in the voice of iconic TV show POSE character, Praytell).
